Tom Chilton Interview: Possible Raid Boss Before Cataclysm
Game Informer
published yesterday an interview with Tom Chilton, game director for World of Warcraft, looking back on the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
They talk about how what classes we might have seen instead of Death Knights, graphical improvements, PvP, why Ulduar was chosen and even a brief discussion of the content patch between now and and Cataclysm.
Hint: It just might be a
single-boss encounter in the Ruby Sanctum
, inside Wyrmrest Temple!
For the final question, there’s been some rumors going around and I wanted to clear them up. You guys have wrapped up the main Lich King storyline. Icecrown is out there, which you guys have said is the final major raid for this expansion. But there are some rumors that there might be another content patch of some

We made an internal fix and unfortunately we had to wipe part of the data which determined which profiles were private and which were not.
All good now, but unfortunately you MAY have to

WTB Time to Play WoW!
There is some unexplainable satisfaction I get from having a productive and meaningful day, even on those really long, dreadful days. But, for me, once all my work is done, all I want to do is go home and relax without having to worry about any work other than the typical daily housework. That would be so nice if every day was like that, but in reality, what is supposed to be my "free time" after a long day will, more often than not, delayed by more work that needs to be done.
I don't remember the last time I was able to devote
any
of my free time to World of Warcraft. In fact, the last time I've played the game was over six months ago. I probably haven't made any real progress, like leveling my 77 paladin to 80, since before then. Maybe it's because I've had less and less free time over the last several months, but it's not like the amount of free time I have now is scarce.

Blizzard and Upper Deck Parting Ways
As some of you may have heard on other sites, such as
WoW.com
,
Blizzard
and
Upper Deck
are not renewing the contract for Upper Deck to produce the trading card game cards. This is a big change as Upper Deck is one the biggest distributors of TCG that I can think of. Blizzard has said they will continue forward with the TCG and are continuing to look forward.
Now onto a little speculation! From what I noticed and have heard about around the water cooler (You didn't know we had a water cooler?) is that Blizzard likes to do things in-house. Compared to when Blizzard and Upper Deck first launched the WoW TCG, Blizzard has received a lot of experience in the TCG arena and they may have decided it's time to bring the project under their own umbrella. This would mean Blizzard would begin printing the cards and distributing it themselves and would have more freedom in how to handle things.
You can read the post by Blizzard regarding this after the break.

Lunar Festival Guide! (Feb 14 - Mar 7)
You know we couldn't let another holiday go by without one of Miyari's excellent
guides

From the looks of it, this world event is going to be much closer to what we saw last year (unlike the
Love Is In the Air
event), so previous experience should apply. We've also pulled out all the stops to make a fully featured table with links to the locations of all the
Elders
, complete with lightboxed maps for each individual location, and overall maps for the whole continents. :)

Come take a look! We'll (of course) be updating it as the event goes on, and feel free to leave feedback here in this thread!

Yeah... We're Dropping Support for IE6
I'm sure this will come as no surprise. What with all the talk about security holes, and the advanced age of the browser (what, nine years now?), major websites are dropping IE6 support left and right—and that's not to mention the specific concern about the security of WoW accounts.
So let us say officially:
We will shortly be dropping support for Internet Explorer 6 (IE6)
.
Now for those of you who are stuck with this geriatric browser for whatever reason, don't despair! This isn't quite as harsh as it sounds—it doesn't mean the page is suddenly going to stop working completely in IE6. It only means that if we make a change or an update that makes the page look funny in IE6...well, we're not going to lose any sleep over it.
No longer worrying about maintaining support for this old browser will enable us to spend more time developing new features, and to make sure we're taking advantage of all the technological advances newer browsers have to offer.
So if you're still using

StarCraft II's Battle.net Preview
Blizzard just launched a new page on their StarCraft II website that contains a preview of the new
Battle.net
integrated service for all Blizzard games, including World of Warcraft.
In this preview you will find some of the new features and developmental screenshots of the new service—which includes competitive arenas, cross-connectivity between Blizzard games and a way to post mods and community created content. There is also a video interview with Greg Canessa, Project Director for Battle.net, where he covers all of this and more.
As this pertains to World of Warcraft players as we will most likely see most of the previewed features integrated into the game in future content patches.
